Belgrave Senior XV were not in the least bit overawed when confronted by a strong Leicestershire County XV. On paper it should have been a comfortable run out for Leicestershire but Belgrave had other ideas.
Belgrave's commitment, strong defense and passion took the visitors all the way.
In fact the game could have gone either way but Leicestershire's pressure told and in the last minutes of the game they were rewarded with a try and ran out eventual winners 7pts to nil.
From a spectators point of view it was a very entertaining game. From Leicestershire's point of view the try was a "Get Out Of Jail" card. Belgrave must have felt extremely disappointed to have lost this exciting "Anniversary" game.
